The services we offer:

Data cabling installation

Data collection and management are vital in today’s business world. The need for high speed data transfer is commonplace, and has now become a basic requirement for all retailing and commercial environments. The correct cabling installation and connections are crucial factors. At Atlantic, we have considerable experience in data installations, working in both new build and upgrade projects for a wide range of clients. Our own qualified engineers install the data cabling either as a stand alone project or as part of an installation package and our qualified testing team ensures that terminating and testing are completed to the highest industry standard. This combination of skills ensures that the installation will achieve the high levels of performance you expect.

Design & installation

Our design and planning staff can offer a complete installation calculation, cable sizing and recommend installation methods for commercial, industrial and domestic projects. The handover is seen as an important part of the whole process. At the end of each project we aim to exceed our clients expectations in terms of quality, engineering, innovation and timing.

Emergency lighting design & installation/testing

As part of a new build, or as an improvement programme to your existing facilities, we will carry out all aspects of electrical work associated with the provision of a safe and reliable emergency lighting system. As part of our remit we offer a full design service for emergency lighting systems to British Standard BS5266. We are familiar with the wide range of emergency lighting options available and can advise you on the selection of suitable systems, or work to your specification. Whatever the type of building and its usage, we ensure that your legal requirements are met, and that all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant British Standards

Fire alarm design/installation/commissioning

We provide a full design service for the supply and installation of fire alarms, from a conventional system through to a monitored analogue addressable system. With the latest air sampling systems we can also provide a system with a very high level of sensitivity. All installations are designed and installed to comply with the latest British Standards BS5839 and testing and completion schedules are issued for each project as a standard part of our service.

Housing associations

We are predominately Electrical Contractors and Engineers, but from this service offered to housing providers we found that these organisations called on us to carry out other works. As a result we now have a multi-trade team that carry out responsive repairs quickly and efficiently. They are very polite and we pride ourselves on the very low rates of "no access" visits we experience.

Industrial/ Commercial/ Hospitals & health care

Commercial and industrial works is also one of our key areas, from bespoke client design to generic installation ranging from 2000 to 50,000 SqF buildings. We provide this service as a turnkey project, allowing us to remove the burden from the client and run the entire electrical cabling infrastructure within buildings. Our services range from planning, design & installation of all electrical systems.

Large multiple occupancy developments

We treat every home as we would expect our own to be treated from another contractor, with respect and care, we keep a mess to a minimum during work and make sure that an area is as tidy as it was when we started work after we have finished.

New developments

The main objective for each project is to produce an ‘A’ grade electrical system that best suits the client’s requirements and specifications, with all works complying with the relevant standards. To complete this goal, our management team conducts construction meetings to discuss project status, design, switchboard construction, site works and project co-ordination.

Office lighting & power

For both domestic and commercial premises, intelligent lighting is becoming a major factor in the drive for energy efficiency. Providing both cost-savings benefits and carbon emission reductions, it is now a service that Atlantic electrical division is eager to promote. Our expertise in this field helps clients decide on the installation method and operation. Intelligent lighting has many advantages. Once the installation has been completed, for example, the client can change the switching arrangement around the house at any time, without the need to change any wiring. Switches can be programmed as dimmers, on/off timers, push buttons and so on – the options are endless. Lights can be fitted with LUX level sensors, increasing the lifespan of the lamps and saving energy.

Periodic inspection & certification

An electrical survey, known as a Periodic Inspection Report (PIR) will reveal if electrical circuits are overloaded, find potential hazards in the installation, identify defective DIY work, highlight any lack of earthing or bonding and carry out tests on the fixed wiring of the installation. The report will establish the overall condition of all the electrics and state whether it is satisfactory for continued use, and should detail any work that might need to be done.

Refurbishment re-wires

Our office refurbishment process includes help in the planning and positioning of workstations, data points, power outlets and lighting. Our specialist electrical engineers and network cabling installation specialists have many years of experience in completing office fit out projects.

Schools and universities

We can offer a fully managed electrical and data refit of existing schools or college rooms or of a new building. All the electrical work is planned and project managed by us so that wherever possible work is carried out during school or college holidays with no disruption to the normal operation of the premises.

Shop lighting & design

Lighting can help to create mood and ambiance and is a very important element when designing any shop space. It is essential that counters are well lit and that customer entrance areas appear warm and welcoming. It is also important when creating a working environment that shop lighting complements the existing fixtures, fittings and style of building.

Storage developments design & build

We design, supply and implement an electrical system for self storage facilities that will be carried out in accordance with the current 16th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations and certified in accordance with the relevant British Standards. As our experience of self storage facilities is extensive, we know exactly which components you need and want. From general and emergency lighting, to fire alarm and smoke detection to sound systems, we have the ability to respond to your needs quickly and efficiently.

PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing)

Inspection and testing of electrical equipment including portable appliances, moveable equipment, hand held appliances, stationary equipment, fixed equipment/appliances, IT equipment and extension leads.

New research has revealed that homeowners are risking their lives by not getting their electrics fully checked, leaving potentially deadly faults lurking in thousands of homes.

An NICEIC survey revealed that nearly nine out of ten (89%) homeowners don’t really think about getting their electrics fully tested, with eighty eight percent (88%) confessing that getting their gas boiler checked is more important to them. Over a third (32%) admitted they have never had the electrics in their home fully tested.

That’s why NICEIC has launched ‘MOT Your Home’, a national consumer safety campaign warning homeowners about the dangers of electrical DIY. Fronted by home-improvement expert, Linda Barker, the new campaign encourages homeowners whose property is over 10 years old to employ a registered electrician to carry out a Periodic Inspection Report, which acts like an MOT for the property.

Linda Barker, NICEIC spokesperson, says: “I’ve teamed up with the NICEIC to encourage consumers to get their homes checked and make electrical safety a top priority. Even though it’s tempting to try and save a few pennies where possible at the moment, a simple home MOT could save lives. To help homeowners ensure optimum electrical safety in their home.

To ensure any report or electrical work carried out is safe and complies with Building Regulations, it’s advisable to employ an NICEIC Atlantic electrician.

All of our projects are completed to meet British health and safety requirements and every electrical installation is fully tested before the project is signed off. Please complete the information in the contact us section to let us know how we can help you with your installation needs.
